New nano-drilling fluid successfully used in Zhejiang Oilfield for the first time
The Jiatan 1H well of Zhejiang Oilfield has been successfully drilled and is undergoing completion operations. This marks the first time that Zhejiang Oilfield has successfully applied a bionic nano-polyfilm low-activity water-based drilling fluid system in the development of deep coalbed methane horizontal wells.
The geological conditions of deep coalbed methane are more complex, and there are problems such as easy well wall instability, low electrical measurement success rate, and low drilling timeliness. Strengthening the sealing of micropores and micro-fractures by drilling fluid is one of the key measures to solve the instability of the well wall. Since the existing drilling fluid system can only seal pores and fractures with a size of microns and above, it is not effective at sealing nano-sized pores and fractures, and it is difficult to prevent pressure transmission, which often causes well wall instability and affects normal drilling operations.
In order to solve drilling problems, Zhejiang Oilfield has strengthened its research on water-based drilling fluids for deep horizontal wells. Scientific researchers solved the technical problems of water-based drilling fluids such as low rock holding capacity, poor lubricity, and poor temperature resistance, and developed a water-based drilling fluid system suitable for deep coalbed methane horizontal wells in Zhejiang Oilfield. This bionic nano-polyfilm low-activity water-based drilling fluid can not only meet the construction needs of deep horizontal wells, but also has better lubrication effect, lower cost, and is more conducive to safety and environmental protection. It can also suppress the dispersion of drilling cuttings, stabilize the well wall, and It has remarkable effects in cutting cuttings and other aspects, and well solves problems such as wellbore instability during drilling.
