Description
Technical Parameters

This high-temperature extreme pressure lubricant is a high-performance, environmentally friendly additive designed for water-based drilling fluids operating under severe downhole conditions. Utilizing a unique chemisorption mechanism, this high-temperature extreme pressure lubricant forms a continuous, tenacious lubricating film on metal surfaces, including drill strings, bottom-hole assemblies (BHA), and casings. As a non-hydrocarbon, non-fluorescing additive, this advanced high-temperature extreme pressure lubricant is safe for personnel, environmentally compliant, and has no adverse effect on wireline logging operations.

The lubricant's molecular structure contains active polar groups that chemically bond to metal surfaces through chemisorption, creating a durable, multi-layer lubricating film that withstands extreme pressures and temperatures. This film remains effective under contact pressures exceeding 50,000 psi and temperatures up to 400°F (204°C), providing reliable lubrication in the most challenging drilling environments. The synthetic base ensures consistent performance without the variability associated with mineral oil-based products.

Applications/Functions

Enhances extreme-pressure lubricity in water-based drilling, completion, and workover fluids

Reduces friction and wear in high-angle, extended-reach, and complex well profiles

Minimizes torque and drag, preventing stuck pipe and improving drilling efficiency

Protects metal components from corrosion and hydrogen-induced cracking

Compatible with all common water-based fluid systems, including high-salinity and high-temperature formulations

Maintains performance in sour gas environments with H₂S and CO₂ presence

Advantages

Effective at low concentrations (0.5-2% v/v), providing cost-efficient performance

Thermally stable and functional under extreme pressure and temperature conditions

Non-foaming and non-fluorescing, ensuring compatibility with logging operations

Free of hydrocarbons, aligning with environmental and safety regulations

Forms a durable lubricating film through chemisorption, resistant to mechanical and thermal breakdown

Enhances equipment longevity and reduces operational non-productive time (NPT)

Biodegradable and meets offshore environmental compliance standards

Typical Properties

Appearance: Light yellow liquid

Specific Gravity: 1.0–1.1

Flash Point: >338°F (170°C)

Recommended Treatment
A typical treatment range of 0.5–2% by volume is recommended, with specific dosage adjustments based on well geometry, temperature, pressure, and drilling fluid properties. For optimal performance, add the High-Temperature Extreme Pressure Lubricant gradually during fluid mixing to ensure uniform distribution and maximum film formation on metal surfaces. Continuous monitoring and adjustment are advised in response to changing downhole conditions.
