Description:
ME Sulphonated Asphalt is a filtration control additive that is suitable for use in both oil-based and water-based drilling fluid systems. It forms a thin and tough mud cake that effectively seals off micro-fractures and prevents rock hydration, reducing formation damage and acting as a shale stabilizer. ME Sulfonated Asphalt has a strong resistance to contamination, a wide pH range.
Application:
• Effectively reduces high-temperature and high-pressure filtration in water-based and oil-based muds.
• Strengthens the wellbore and has excellent shale stabilization properties.
Advantages:
• Significantly improves lubricity, either alone or in combination with small amounts of oils, synthetic oils, or glycol.
• Prevents drill pipe from getting stuck.
• Extremely temperature stable and does not have a typical softening point.
• Minimal and easily distinguishable fluorescence, which does not interfere with well logging or core analysis.
• Does not create oil slicks, sheens, or rainbows on water at offshore locations.
• No emulsifiers needed for proper mixing.
• Solids control equipment does not need to be bypassed during mixing.
