The primary mechanism of this advanced Nano Shale Inhibitor is to drastically increase the contact angle of shale surfaces, thereby reducing their interfacial free energy and effectively transforming them from hydrophilic to hydrophobic. This process creates a robust osmotic membrane that significantly delays and reduces the transfer of drilling fluid pressure into the formation.

Applications & Functions

This premium Nano Shale Inhibitor delivers excellent shale inhibition performance by creating a protective shield on the borehole wall. It effectively stabilizes sensitive shale formations by mitigating clay hydration and dispersion. The product demonstrates exceptional thermal stability, maintaining consistent apparent viscosity (AV) and plastic viscosity (PV) after dynamic aging, which is critical for high-temperature drilling operations. Furthermore, it reduces rock surface filtrate wetting, minimizing water invasion into the shale matrix. An additional benefit is the notable improvement in lubricity, which reduces torque and drag.
