The drilling fluid provided by Qingdao Meilian Energy Co., Ltd. successfully drilled H90-3 well with a depth of 4,464 meters and a horizontal section length of 2,269 meters. The well used the characteristic oil-based drilling fluid system developed by Qingdao Meilian Energy Co., Ltd. which helped the well set the record for the longest horizontal section in Changqing Oilfield.
H90-3 well is the key horizontal well and experiment well in Changqing oilfield, , The reservoir in the horizontal section of the well is thin and fast to change, the reservoir calcium is cemented, and has serious water sensitivity, the reservoir has mud interlayer.Drilling speed was slow and long cycle slow , hydration expansion after mudstone intrusion, there is a risk of well wall instability, construction difficulty. Conventional water-base drilling fluid can't meet the demand of safety construction.
In order to meet the requirements of wellbore stability, torque and friction reduction, and achieve safe and rapid drilling and construction, our company selects an oil-based drilling fluid. Company's R & D team has optimized the formulation and performance based on key parameters such as electrical stability, oil-to-water ratio, HTHP filtration, and alkalinity. Made the torque during drilling lower than 50% than those of the same horizontal wells which using water-based drilling fluid, and the drag reduction rate reach 80%, thus increasing the drilling speed and ensuring a quick and smooth completion.
The smooth construction of the well realized the experimental purpose of exploration and development of shallow surface long horizontal well in Changqing oilfield. At the same time, it disseminated the brand image of the oil-based drilling fluid system of Meilian Energy Co., Ltd. and laid a solid foundation for the further promotion of the system.
