Product Description
Dry nano latex polymer nanoshield is a high-performance filtration control additive specifically engineered for use in diesel, mineral, and synthetic-based drilling fluids under extreme high-temperature conditions exceeding 450°F (232°C). As a key component of clay-free, high-performance oil-based mud (OBM) systems, this advanced dry nano latex polymer nanoshield efficiently reduces fluid loss by forming a flexible and ultra-thin sealing membrane along the wellbore.
In medium to low-permeability formations, this dry nano latex polymer nanoshield achieves a remarkable fluid loss reduction rate of up to 80%. It temporarily seals permeable zones while ensuring excellent permeability recovery after drilling, thereby alleviating water-blocking effects and enhancing production potential. Its nano-sized particles effectively plug micro-fractures and reduce pore pressure transmission, significantly mitigating formation damage through intelligent sealing mechanisms that maintain reservoir productivity.
Applications/Functions
Reduces HPHT fluid loss in all oil-based drilling fluids
Improves rheological properties and enhances wellbore stability
Suitable for deepwater and high-temperature high-pressure (HTHP) applications
Minimizes formation damage in productive zones
Enhances fracture gradient in narrow margin drilling
Provides effective sealing in microfractured formations
Advantages
Thermally stable beyond 450°F (232°C)
Effective at low concentrations (1–4 ppb) for HTHP filtration control
Compatible with other fluid loss additives (e.g., amine lignite, gilsonite)
Disperses rapidly and integrates easily into non-aqueous fluid systems
Enhances low-temperature performance in deepwater environments
Promotes minimal formation damage and improved wellbore integrity
Provides excellent permeability recovery after drilling operations
Technical Mechanism
The product functions through a unique elastic sealing mechanism where nano-sized latex particles deform under pressure to create an effective barrier in pore throats and microfractures. The polymer particles exhibit intelligent swelling characteristics that adapt to formation pore sizes, providing customized sealing while maintaining the ability to be removed during production.
