This advanced fluid loss control agent is a precision-engineered, synergistic blend of specially treated Water-Based Gilsonite Filtration Control additives and selective surfactants. It is designed to deliver exceptional filtration control and wellbore stability in the most demanding high-temperature drilling environments. The core component is a chemically modified Gilsonite derivative, which provides superior colloidal sealing properties and enhanced thermal resistance compared to conventional polymer-based additives like CMC, PAC, or starches.

Mechanism of Action & Performance Benefits

The primary mechanism of this Water-Based Gilsonite Filtration Control system involves the formation of a thin, tough, and impermeable filter cake. This is achieved through the synergistic action of its broad particle size distribution (PSD) and surface-active components. The product is supplied as a black, free-flowing powder or a pre-dispersed suspension liquid, with a typical density of 0.85-0.95 g/cm³ and a pH of 8.8-9.2. Recommended treatment concentrations range from 5.7 to 22.8 kg/m³ (2 to 8 ppb) depending on well conditions. Increased dosage is recommended for higher bottomhole temperatures, severely fractured formations, and more challenging drilling environments to ensure optimal performance of this advanced Water-Based Gilsonite Filtration Control solution.
