Description:

Shale control additive medium cloud point glycol's water-solubility is greatly affected by temperature.When the temparature lower than the cloud point temperature, it is water-soluble, its surface activity makes it adsorbed on the surface of the drilling tools and solid particles, forming hydrophobic film, prevent mud shale hydration and dispersion, stable wall, improve lubricity, reduce drilling torque and friction, prevent drill bit mud bag, stable drilling fluid performance and can effectively control the pressure transfer.When the temperature is higher than the cloud point temperature, the polyalcohol precipitates from the drilling fluid, adheres to the drilling tool and well wall, and forms a molecular film similar to the oil phase, thus greatly enhancing the lubricity of the drilling fluid;At the same time, due to the formation of mud cake, the rock pores are blocked, and the filtrate is organized to penetrate into the formation, so as to stabilize the shaft wall.When the drilling fluid returns to the surface from the bottom of the well, as the temperature gradually decreases (from above the turbidity point temperature to below the turbidity point temperature), the polyalcohol restores its water solubility and avoids being removed by the vibration screen.

Shale control additive medium cloud point glycol has application in polyglycol systems in fresh-to-high salinity make-up water and can be used in wells with high formation temperatures. When used properly, this high-cloud-point additive helps to stabilize troublesome shale by plugging shale pores, preventing the equalization of hydrostatic pressure away from the wellbore.

Add it in concentration of 2.0 to 7.0 liters per 1000 liters to any system. Mix slowly through a jet mixer or sift slowly into the vortex of a high-speed stirrer.
