PRODUCT NAME : Fluid-loss Agent In Mid Temperature
COMPOSITION / INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS AND APPLICATIONS
Fluid-loss Agent In Mid Temperature is a modified asphalt and resin compound. Used in temperature-stable invert-emulsion OBM drilling mud. It reduces both API and HPHT fluid loss in all oil-based muds.
It helps improve the overall emulsion stability, thermal stability, and suspension characteristics of most oil-based formulations. It can inhibit the dispersion of drilling cuttings, control HTHP filtration, produce thin and dense mud cake, maintain low shear rate under HTHP, reduce the transmission of pore pressure and seal micro fractures and low porosity sand. Keep formation integrity and develop effective filter cake. Because the decomposition temperature of the product is as high as 275 °F, highly-dispersive and fractured shales with sloughing tendencies, hard, brittle shales in which moderate dispersion exhibits severe sloughing, a high-strength adsorption membrane is formed on the surface of mud cake. The plugging principle is used to reduce the permeability of mud cake, improve the quality of mud cake and reduce the filtration loss.
The typical concentrations range from 5.7 to 23 kg/m3, High-temperature situations and special applications require higher concentrations, as much as 29 kg/m3.
When used in the initial formulation, it is recommended to add last. Pilot testing is advised to determine the necessary treatment to achieve the desired results and to observe the change in mud properties.
The softening point of Fluid-loss Agent In Mid Temperature is suitable for use over a wide range of temperatures.It is often used to seal low-pressure and under-balanced formations.
